About

assessmentcheck.ca is run by Rodney Buchinski, a GIS professional in Alberta with thirty years of work with municipal maps and property data. It is an independent service, not a municipality, not an assessor and not a law firm.

Municipalities publish their assessment rolls as open data, but a homeowner can’t easily compare one home with similar homes nearby. This site does that comparison from the municipality’s own figures, for free, and offers a printable evidence pack for people who want to take it further.

What this site will never do

• Say what your home is worth, or tell you to complain.
• Fill in complaint forms or speak for you at a hearing.
• Show owner names.
• Present itself as a municipal or provincial service.
